VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Virginia Beach Fire Department responded to a fire in the 5400 block of Gale Drive Friday afternoon.
Viewer photos and video show flames and black smoke coming largely from the backyard area.
VBFD said they dispatched crews to the scene at 3:30 p.m. They arrived four minutes later to find a shed and fence fully engulfed in flames.
Crews the fire under control at 3:51 p.m.
The fire caused severe damage to the exterior of the home and there is heavy smoke damage inside.
There was no one at the home when the fire broke out and no injuries reported, but two adults and their pets are now displaced. The Red Cross is assisting them.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
