VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — The city manager’s proposed 2020 budget includes funds for another Something in the Water festival.

An additional $250,000 is being included in the budget for Convention and Visitors Bureau in order to sponsor another installment of the festival that city leaders are already deeming a huge success. The city shelled out the same amount to be a sponsor this year.

Pharrell Williams’ highly anticipated festival drew thousands to the Virginia Beach Oceanfront over the weekend to see performers including several big-name acts like Missy Elliott, Pusha T, Chris Brown, Jay-Z and many more.

The weekend of the festival — the final weekend in April — is traditionally when College Beach Weekend was unofficially held in Virginia Beach. City spokeswoman Julie Hill said if the festival does indeed happen again, it will be held the fourth weekend in April.

In an interview with WAVY.com, Williams said he is hoping to do it all again.
