VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – The Virginia Beach Sheriff’s Office is warning residents of a recent phone scam.

According to a tweet from VBSO, they have received reports of scammers calling people pretending to be VBSO sergeants.

VBSO wants to remind residents that they will never call you and demand money over the phone. If you do receive a call like this, VBSO says you should hang up and do not give them any money or personal information.
