VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Virginia State Police (VSP) say a man is dead after a single-vehicle crash in Virginia Beach.

The crash happened around 6:30 a.m. on I-64 westbound, east of Indian River. According to VSP, the driver, 47-year-old Kenneth Andrew Monroe, of Chesapeake drove his 2008 Nissan off the roadway into a grassy median and struck a concrete drainage system.

He died from his injuries at the scene. Police say Monroe was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash, and neither alcohol or speed were contributing factors.
