exhibition at Jamestown Settlement is extending through Jan. 5, 2025.

Guests can also see costumes from popular movies like Marvel Studios’ “Black Panther” as well as other films and television like “Roots,” “Amistad,” “Malcom X,” “Selma,” and “Do the Right Thing.”

Special programs will accompany the exhibition on Sept. 7-8 and Oct. 5, with the latter featuring a special return appearance by Ruth E. Carter, a two-time Academy Award-winning costume designer.

A special exhibit area showcases the work of Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation historical tailors and opportunities for visitors to design their own costumes and historical clothing.
