WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (WAVY) — The City of Williamsburg wants residents to attend the 2024 National Night Out event on Tuesday, Oct. 1 — but Mother Nature had other ideas.
Due to the latest weather forecast, officials decided to reschedule the National Night Out to the rain date of Thursday, Oct. 3. It will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the same location — at the Community Building, 401 N. Boundary Street.
National Night Out (NNO) is an annual event that promotes police and community partnerships. During the event, members of local law enforcement agencies will be present to meet with citizens.
“The city’s National Night Out Committee puts together a fantastic event for the community year after year,” Community Resource Officer Herb Williams said. “We cannot wait for our neighbors to see what we have planned for this year’s NNO on Oct. 1”
Williamsburg won a National Night Out Award for Outstanding Participation after drawing a crowd of 500 last year.
