YORKTOWN, Va. (WAVY) – The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has announced they will be conducting a series of test openings at the George P. Coleman Memorial Bridge on Route 17 starting on Monday.
From July 8 to July 11, between 11 p.m. and 4 p.m., there will be a series of 30-minute overnight openings at the bridge for a maintenance work project on the bridge’s balance wheel.
After each opening, the travel lanes will be opened on the bridge to allow traffic queues to clear between each of the openings.
The schedule is dependent on weather conditions and is subject to change.
