Update: The York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office said James M. Hudgens has been found and is back safe with his family.

YORK COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) — Virginia State Police has issued a senior alert for missing 77-year-old James M. Hudgens Jr., who has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and has been missing since Thursday afternoon.

The alert was issued on behalf of the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office. Hudgens left his home in the Tabb area of York County. He was last seen at 2:45 p.m. on Brentmeade Drive in Yorktown.

Hudgens Jr., who has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, is 5-foot-11, 210 lbs. and has short white hair and green eyes. He is possibly operating a white 1999 Dodge Dakota pickup truck with Virginia tags PAWS2U, and it has Clemson Tiger stickers on the back window. The vehicle has been spotted Thursday evening in Portsmouth, Chesapeake and Norfolk.

He was last seen wearing a green plaid long-sleeved shirt, blue jeans and clogs.

The York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office is working with law enforcement in those areas, as well as the Virginia State Police, to find Hudgens.

Hudgens has been entered into the Virginia Criminal Information Network as a missing, endangered adult.
