NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Police have arrested a man suspected of stealing a statue from The Main hotel in downtown Norfolk.

Police say Alexander Jones, 25, of the 7000 block of Newport Avenue, stole a bronze statue worth more than $3,000 from the hotel on Saturday, March 23, around midnight. He was arrested on March 28 at his home and charged with grand larceny.

Security video provided by police shows a suspect getting into an elevator at The Main, before walking out of the building. The statue, which depicts a couple dancing, belonged to the hotel, police said. It’s since been returned.
