CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — A man will serve 24 years for the December 2016 murder on Birch Trail Circle in Chesapeake.
Daquane Cuffee, who was 20 years old at the time of the slaying, was convicted of second-degree murder and use of a firearm in connection to the shooting death of 27-year-old Dion Tynes back in May.
Prosecutors say it was all connected to a $500 marijuana deal gone bad.

Tynes’s mother was there to see her son’s killer sentenced.
“It’s been hard, it’s been very hard for me, my sons, my entire family, it’s been hard, but I think justice has been served today,” said Quanda Tynes.
Charges against two other suspects in the case were withdrawn due to lack of evidence.
