VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — One of four men who were charged in connection to a double homicide in Virginia Beach has pleaded guilty.
Dale Gauvin pleaded guilty this week to charges of conspiracy and possession with intent to manufacture schedule I/II drug. Charges of malicious assault and use of a firearm in a felony against Gauvin were withdrawn.
Gauvin is scheduled to be sentenced May 7.
Virginia Beach police said Michael Cain and Matthew Jyrkinen where shot and killed at a home on Gate Tree Court last January.
Court documents say the shooting happened during a drug deal.
Police also charged Steven Gray, Malkim Hart, and Justin Rigby in connection to the double murder. Gray is set to go on trial Jan. 15, while Rigby and Hart are scheduled to go on trial Feb. 4 and Feb. 15, respectively.
