VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Both parties have requested more time to file an indictment in the case involving a man accused of threatening Congressman Scott Taylor.

Police arrested 69-year-old Wallace Godwin last month, after they say he showed up at Taylor’s offices, and threatened the congressman and two staffers.

Both parties in the case say they need more time to pursue plea negotiations and possibly schedule a guilty plea hearing.

They now have until May 25 to file.
