NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — One mother who lost her son to gun violence two years ago refuses to give up on finding justice.

In September of 2016, 21-year-old Jordan Stith was shot at a house party in area of Wedgewood and Ross drive in Newport News. Detectives made an arrest in the case, but then prosecutors withdrew the charges.

The victim’s mother, Lolita Frazier, reuses to give up on finding who is responsible.

“They won’t forget him and I won’t let it go away,” said Frazier. “I’ll never let it go away.” She says someone out there knows exactly what happened to her son.

“I know that someone knows. There’s no way. This is a place where people talk, you know, they talk a lot. People have reached out to me, they’ve said things, but they won’t speak to the police,” said Frazier. “My thing is, if you know Jordan and you love him, you know, how could you be loyal to the streets over your friend? If you love me or cared about me, how can you watch me just go through all of this hurt and pain.”

Remaining strong is something Frazier says gets harder instead of easier with time. “Whoever says that they really love my son, that they just need to come forward you know. Do it for me, you know, do it so that I can have some peace in my life. I want to live I want to be able to let some of the hurt go.”

Frazier says she’s already forgiven the person who took her son’s life “This isn’t about punishment. This is about justice for my son. Whatever’s fair, just to acknowledge that that’s my son. You know it’s a life. “
