PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WMBB) — Bay District Schools said 14,000 students are in need of winter clothing for school. They have met the need for backpacks but are still in need of clothing donations.
The company Brilliant Tees is working with Bay District schools to help fulfill this need. People from all over can buy jackets that will be delivered directly to the school children in need after Hurricane Michael.
“If you lost everything and you left your house with just everything on your back, that day was hot, so you probably didn’t leave with a jacket, you weren’t thinking of your fleeces that were put away for your winter clothes,” explained Sharon Michalik, Bay District Schools Communication Director.
“We’re going to order more jackets today to be shipped here tomorrow, your money is going where it is suppose to go, instantly to the children the very next day,” said Melissa Gelardo, Brilliant Tees Company.
900 jackets were delivered Tuesday and 1,800 arrived Wednesday. If you’re interested in donating a jacket, click here.
