RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Allegiant Air will soon be expanding its service from Richmond.

Starting April 4, the Las Vegas-based airline will offer non-stop service from Richmond International Airport to Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport. The new year-round flights will operate twice weekly.

“We’re thrilled to be adding a new destination for Richmond-area travelers,” said Drew Wells, Allegiant vice president of planning and revenue. “We’re sure that everyone will enjoy getting away to beautiful Sarasota on these convenient, nonstop, ultra-low-cost flights.”

With the addition of this new route, Allegiant now serves four cities from Richmond International Airport.

In June, Allegiant launched non-stop service from Richmond to Nashville.
