NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — U.S. Marshals are offering a reward for information on a man wanted for fatally stabbing a Hampton University student more than 13 years ago.

Marshals say Jihad Amir Ramadan, now 32, allegedly stabbed 20-year-old Byron Bryant to death in July 2005.

Ramadan — who also has significant ties to Atlanta — fled to New York after the fatal stabbing. Authorities believe his family has helped him avoid capture over the years.

Authorities say the 32-year-old was born with the name Justin Faustin, but later had it legally changed to Jihad Amir Ramadan. It is believed Ramadan is likely living under a new identity.

His last known address was Irving Place in New Rochelle, New York.

U.S. Marshals said in 2016 that Ramadan has relatives and acquaintances in New Jersey, Maryland, North Carolina, Georgia, Florida and California — and has connections to the Caribbean.

A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information leading to Ramadan’s arrest.

Anyone with infromation is encouraged to call the U.S. Marshals at 1-877-Wanted-2 (1-877-926-8332) or email usms.wanted@usdoj.gov.
