(NewsNation) — A Kansas woman has died after backing into a moving airplane propeller while taking photos over the weekend.
The woman was identified as Amanda Gallagher, 37. According to Nexstar’s KSNW, the woman was from Wichita, Kansas.
On Saturday afternoon, Gallagher was taking photos of people getting on and off of planes at the Air Capital Drop Zone — a skydiving center in Derby, southeast of Wichita, Kansas — when she backed into a propeller, according to Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office.
According to KSNW, Gallagher was critically injured and taken to a local hospital, where she later died.
Police believe there is nothing suspicious regarding her death but an investigation was still ongoing Monday.
As reported by KSNW, Cook Airfield posted a message about the tragedy on Facebook on Sunday.
“Our hearts go out to the family and friends of the young lady who died yesterday after a tragic accident with an airplane propeller on Cook Airfield,” the post read in part. “Just please keep her family, her friends and her Air Capital Drop Zone family in your prayers and thoughts.”
The Airfield refrained from speculating on “what could have or should have happened differently.”
A GoFundMe has been set up to assist her family with associated funeral costs.
