SPARTANBURG, S.C. (WSPA) – No service? No problem — at least not if you like free doughnuts.
In light of the widespread cellular network outages reported among AT&T and other cellular users on Thursday, Krispy Kreme is offering a free Original Glazed doughnut to “anyone who’s struggled with service,” the company said on Facebook.
“While your service is down, we’re serving up!” the post reads.
The doughnuts will be available at participating U.S. locations between 5 and 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 22, both in-store and via the drive-thru.
A representative for Krispy Kreme said customers will not have to provide any proof or evidence of service disruptions. The offer is simply a bit of “sweet relief” for those who dealt with service outages, the rep told Nexstar.
No other purchases are necessary, but customers will be limited to one free Original Glazed doughnut apiece. Additional restrictions can be found in the fine print of Krispy Kreme’s post.
Cell phone users were first affected by the reported service disruptions on Thursday morning, after an outage knocked out cellphone service for AT&T users across the U.S. for hours. Users of other carriers, including Verizon and T-Mobile, also reported issues, but those companies claimed their networks were operating normally and the problems were likely stemming from customers trying to connect to AT&T users.
