ST. AUGUSTINE, Florida (CNN) – Two high school students are crediting their survival to an answered prayer.

Teens Heather Brown and Tyler Smith, both 17, were celebrating a Senior Skip Day at a beach in St. Augustine, Florida.

The two were swimming off an island when the current became too strong for them.

After two hours in the water, they were exhausted – and stranded.

“I asked him, I said ‘Tyler, oh my God, we are stuck, what’s the plan?'” recalled Brown.

Not knowing what else to do, the two began to pray.

“I cried out, ‘if you really do have a plan for us, like, come on, just bring something,'” said Smith.

Then came a stunning answer to that prayer.

A boat. With a name that could not be ignored.

“The name of the boat is ‘The Amen.’ I started crying,” said Brown.

The boat’s crew pulled the teens aboard, got them settled and warm and called the Coast Guard.

Brown and Smith have no doubt why they are alive today.

“There’s no other reason or other explanation in the world that that wasn’t God,” said Smith.
