DARE COUNTY, N.C. (WAVY) – A cut telephone fiber line impacted internet and telephone services in Currituck County for several hours Friday.

An alert from Currituck County just before 11:30 a.m. confirmed a cut telephone fiber line in Dare County was to blame.

They said the 911 Communications Center was still operating, and emergency Services would not be affected. The 911 Communications Center’s administrative line, 252-453-3633, though, lost service during the outage.

At 3:50 p.m., phone service was restored.
