ECSU and COA launch new partnership for aviation students

ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. (WAVY) — A new partnership between Elizabeth City State University (ECSU) and College of the Albemarle (COA) aims to help students interested in aviation soar to success.

ECSU Provost Farrah Ward and COA President Jack Bagwell signed two agreements that will make it easier for COA students who earn their Associate in Applied Science in Aviation Systems Technology with at least a 2.0 GPA to be admitted to ECSU.

COA has long-been our closest community college partner and today’s signing demonstrates ECSU’s commitment to ensuring COA students have access to a quality, affordable education,” Ward said.

The Viking Advantage program is also part of the agreement between the two institutions. This program will offer up to 10 COA transfer students $1000 scholarships each year.

Other Viking Advantage benefits include:

“We’re not in competition with one another; we’re in partnership,” said President Bagwell. “These agreements signify our dedication to fostering seamless pathways for student success and strengthening our relationship with Elizabeth City State University.”
