ECSU to conduct full-scale active assailant exercise

ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. (WAVY) — Elizabeth City State University (ESCU) will conduct a full-scale active assailant exercise.

The purpose of the exercise to simulate an actual emergency scenario to test the operational capability of emergency management systems in a highly stressful environment and evaluate the effectiveness of response procedures.


ECSU’s emergency management team is partnering with Sentara Albemarle, Nightingale Medical Evacuation, the Elizabeth City Fire Department, and the Elizabeth City Police Department for this exercise.

The exercises are scheduled to take place between Wednesday, June 5 and Friday, June 7 at the K. E. White Graduate Center beginning at 8 a.m.
