ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. (WAVY) — Elizabeth City Police have arrested a 20-year-old man after reports of a gun being pointed.

On Friday, Feb. 23 just after 6 p.m., police responded to the 300 block of East Ehringhaus Street for reports that someone was pointing a gun.

When officers arrived on the scene, they observed a gun being passed between two people and detained both.

Officers later arrested Xavier Rashawn Brinkley, of Elizabeth City, and charged him with possession of a stolen firearm, carrying a concealed gun and sell/give handgun to minor.

Brinkley was transported to Albemarle District Jail with no bond. His first court appearance will be Monday, Feb. 26 at Pasquotank County District Court at 9:30 a.m.

The juvenile was taken into custody and later turned over to parents. Juvenile petitions will be generated for the juvenile, police said.
