RALEIGH, N.C. (WAVY) — Veterans and military personnel — and their spouses — now have additional career support in North Carolina.
The N.C. Department of Transportation is now a member of the Department of Defenses Military Spouse Employment Partnership.
The partnership allows NCDOT to help military spouses with career opportunities within the state agency.
“We’re excited to enter this partnership to help connect military families to good careers and to continue to develop our workforce,” said Amanda Olive, NCDOT’s Human Resources director.
The membership comes with connections and materials to help NCDOT recruit and retain military spouses. The partnership also gives NCDOT’s Human Resources staff access to the online portal to source resumes from prospective candidates.
A state law allows the department to give eligible veterans preference in hiring over other applicants.
