MOYOCK, N.C. (WAVY) — It’s not just what happens in Vegas that stays in Vegas.
After Friday’s IT outage, a husband and wife from Moyock are still there, too, as they, like many travelers, are still trying to make it home after Friday’s IT outage that grounded nearly all flights.
Keisha and Kenneth McMurrin were enjoying a week-long trip in Las Vegas, celebrating their 10th wedding anniversary. They were supposed to fly back to North Carolina Friday. That was until they got a notification from Delta that their flight was canceled.
Since then the couple says each flight they’ve been rebooked on had also been canceled, both say now they are stuck paying out of pocket for a hotel room and food.
Keisha McMurrin, who suffers from seizures, said she’s running out of medicine, and they still have no clear indication of when they are going home.
“Not getting paid, plus were spending bill money to try to stretch things out, it got to the point that my husband saw signs for day laborers and he was like, if were gonna be here for another week he might as well start working,” she said. “I hope Delta can get it together. I realize it’s not their fault, but at the same time they do have accountability.”
The McMurrin’s have created a GoFundMe for help during all of this. You can donate by clicking here.
