SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A man who was arrested in a Suffolk shooting that left another man seriously injured is facing new charges, officials say.
Suffolk police charged 18-year-old Tony Douglas Powell Jr. in November 2018 following a shooting at the Chorey Park Apartments. A man injured in the shooting was airlifted to a local hospital via Nightingale.
Powell was initially charged with armed robbery, malicious wounding, shoot cut or wound, four counts of use of a firearm in commission of a felony and shooting into an unoccupied dwelling.
Suffolk officials said in a news release Wednesday Powell has been indicted on charges of breaking and entering with intent to commit rape, robbery, or murder, and possession of a firearm by a felon.
Officials have not disclosed the circumstances surrounding the charges.
