GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – A single engine Cessna 177 Cardinal had to make an emergency landing at the Pitt-Greenville Airport Saturday around noon.

The plane, which was enroute from Brunswick, GA to Edenton, NC, landed on runway 20, which is currently closed for repair. There was no damage to the plane and the single occupant was not injured.

Airport spokeswoman Betty Stansbury said no construction workers were hurt and no equipment was damaged.

The aircraft later departed PGV around 3 p.m. on Saturday.

The short runway at the airport is expected to reopen Monday morning, with the longer runway reopening by Friday afternoon.
