VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — One person has been detained after two people were injured in a multi-vehicle crash Monday afternoon in Virginia Beach.

Police spokesperson Linda Kuehn said the crash happened at Credle Road and Oceana Boulevard around noon.

Two people were taken to the hospital following the crash, but Kuehn said their injuries are minor. It was not immediately clear whether the person detained will face charges.

The crash was one of three Virginia Beach police responded to on Monday. A serious crash on Birdneck Road left two people injured and forced officers to close the road for hours.

A police officer was taken to the hospital with minor injuries following a crash at the intersection of Lynnhaven Parkway and Princess Anne Road.
