NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Police have made three arrests in the murder of 34-year-old Michael McGregor, which they say is believed to be gang-related.
Norfolk Police found McGregor’s body in 3500 block of N. Military Highway around 12:50 Saturday morning.
That’s where medics pronounced him dead at the scene. Police say McGregor had died of an apparent gunshot wound.
As of Sunday afternoon, two arrests had been made in connection to that shooting.
Norfolk residents Dashawn T. Bryant, 26, and Patrick M. Barnes, 26, are both charged with the second-degree murder.
Police have also charged them with mob assault, abduction, conspiracy and two counts of using a firearm in the commission of a felony. Bryant and Barnes are being held in the Norfolk City Jail without bond.
Police were still searching for one more suspect, Gary L. Drew, 26. Drew, who was wanted for the same charges, including second-degree murder, was arrested on Monday, police announced.
10 On Your Side learned from police that the altercation that night happened behind Mona Lisa Restaurant and Bar.
When a neighboring business owner, Alma Webster, learned about the shooting, she went to see for herself. She was shocked at what she found.
“I went to the back when they told me about it and there is blood on the ground, yea still blood in there,“ Webster described.
All three suspects are known gang members and that is why detectives say they believe this homicide is gang-related.
