ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. (WAVY) — Police have identified a suspect wanted on attempted murder charges in connection to a June 4 shooting.
Stephon Trevor Ellis, 30, of Elizabeth City, is wanted on charges of attempt first-degree murder, assault with deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, discharge a weapon into an occupied property causing serious bodily injury and felony possession of firearm by felon.
Police say he shot Darryl Kevin Mullen Jr., 27, as Mullen sat in a gray 2013 Nissan Sentra. Mullen was hit several times in the upper body but survived, according to police.
Ellis is known to travel between Elizabeth City and Kings County, New York, and police say he might be in a dark colored 2008 Jaguar XJ 4-door sedan with a personalized North Carolina license plate that reads “MOOLA.” Anyone with information on Ellis’ whereabouts is asked to contact Elizabeth City police at 252-335-4321 or the Crime Line at 252-335-5555.
