NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — A man is being accused of raping a woman in Newport News earlier this month, police say.
Newport News police said officers were called to a home on Bethune Drive the afternoon of Dec. 2 for a reported rape.
Police said a 29-year-old woman told officers her on-again, off-again boyfriend, 30-year-old Cory Aaron Taylor, of Stoney Creek, raped her around 3 a.m. that day then assaulted her three and a half hours later.
The woman hesitated to report the incident for fear that Taylor would retaliate against her, police said.
She obtained warrants and an emergency protective order on Dec. 13, after she was medically cleared.
Taylor was served warrants that day for two counts of abduction with intent to extort money or for immoral purpose, rape and aggravated sexual battery.
