The Currituck County Sheriff’s Office said deputies sought Molesky after a person the 25-year-old lived with in the Coinjock area was found dead on Dec. 4. Molesky is now charged with murder.

The person found dead was later identified as 35-year-old Adam Markert, of Coinjock.

Investigators in Chesapeake were tipped off about Molesky overnight, Chesapeake police spokesman Leo Kosinski said. Officers responded to the 2100 block of Military Highway South around 5:30 a.m.

Military Highway South was blocked off from Kelland Drive to the Battlefield Boulevard interchange during Wednesday morning’s situation. Pedestrian traffic was blocked along Campostella Road between Portlock Road and Lindale Drive.

Roads around Military Highway were reopened following Molesky’s arrest.

Molesky’s Brother Edward Molesky tells 10 On Your Side he was the first one to discover the body and call 911. He says his brother had shown signs of aggression in the past, but it has never escalated this far before.
