One person on scene is detained for additional questioning about the incident, however, there are no charges or further details at this time.
On Tuesday, 10 On Your Side spoke to neighbors about the crime.
“I’ve never had to deal with anything like that,” neighbor Kemia Thompson said. “Call me coddled, call me whatever you want, but I shouldn’t have to.”
Thompson said she heard about the shooting while at work. Someone sent her a text message about it.
“The first thing I see when I open the link is my mother’s truck with tape around it,” she said. “So you can imagine, I didn’t know what happened.”
Virginia Beach Police Department Public Information Officer Kane says they do not have a suspect in custody, but there is no threat to the community.
