CONCORD, N.H. (NEXSTAR) — Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is leaving the presidential race, but New Hampshire voters don’t seem too sad about it.

DeSantis was polling in the single digits in the Granite State, following his distant second place finish in Iowa last week. His campaign had spent more time and resources there than in New Hampshire.

In recent days, DeSantis had been splitting his time between New Hampshire and South Carolina, the next state in the primary process and the home state of his rival, Nikki Haley.

Haley, the former U.N. Ambassador and South Carolina Governor celebrated the news at a rally in Exeter late Sunday.

“Do you hear that sound?” Haley asked an energized crowd of supporters. “That’s the sound of a two-person race.”

She’s hoping to “finish strong” in Tuesday’s primary against GOP frontrunner Donald Trump.
