PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — A Portsmouth drug dealer is now facing 25 years in prison.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office said Wednesday that 35-year-old Benitez Auguarius Moody was sentenced on charges of drug distribution and possession of multiple firearms.
Prosecutors said Moody sold crack cocaine, heroin and fentanyl from summer 2015 to March 2016.
Police arrested Moody on Aug. 10, 2016 following a series of controlled buys from Moody, and a search of his home.
Authorities seized 97 grams of crack cocaine, two grams of heroin and fentanyl mixture, four firearms (two special revolvers and two semi-automatic pistols), and $4,000 in cash during the search.
A federal jury convicted Moody of the crimes on April 28, 2017.
