PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — Detectives have made an arrest just hours after a man was stabbed to death Saturday night.
Just after 10 p.m. on Saturday, Portsmouth Police say they responded to the 500 block of Madison Street for a medical call.
When they arrived, officials located one man suffering from a stab wound to the upper body. Police say the victim, 49-year-old Donnell Joyner, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police have charged 46-year-old Al Jerry Hargrave with second degree murder as a result of this incident.
The investigation is still ongoing.
