PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — NCIS has increased its reward for information regarding recent threats at Norfolk Naval Shipyard in Portsmouth.
Shipyard officials said a threatening message was found on a bathroom wall on Valentine’s Day. The message prompted an evacuation of the area.
That same day, reports of an active shooter at the shipyard were deemed a false alarm.
NCIS announced a $1,000 reward earlier this month for information that could lead to an arrest. That reward was increased to $2,500 this week.
Anyone with information can call NCIS anonymously at 757-444-7327.
