Richmond Wildlife Center will name a worm after your ex for Valentine’s Day

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Valentine’s Day is a time for couples to express their love through cards, chocolates and flowers.

But for those who are single or recently had their hearts broken, the Richmond Wildlife Center is giving them a chance to also celebrate the holiday.

For only a $2 donation, singletons will be able to name a mealworm, beetle or waxworm after their ex, and then the center will feed the named insect to one of the animals in their care.

But if you had a really terrible ex, a $5 will donation will let you watch the insect get devoured.

“Your worthless ex can finally do something nice,” the wildlife center said. “Their namesake helping us to feed the animals in our care.”

Donations and names must be submitted by Feb. 13. The insect will be fed on Facebook on Feb. 14.
