VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — The Virginia Beach Sheriff’s Office says scammers pretending to be a deputy sheriff are calling people to say they owe money for missing jury duty.
The sheriff’s office says deputies will never call you to demand money over the phone.
Anyone who gets this type of call is asked to just hang up.
