HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — A second suspect was arrested in connection to a triple shooting that left one man dead on March 25.

Police say they have taken 31-year-old Donte Demille Hampton of Suffolk into custody with help from the U.S. Marshals Task Force.

The first suspect arrested in connection to this homicide on Kathann Drive was 29-year-old Willie Darez Milligan, Jr. of Newport News.

According to police, their preliminary investigation revealed Hampton had asked Milligan and Anthony Carel Floyd, Jr., the 30-year-old Hampton man who was killed at the scene, to come the residence on Kathann Drive.

Hampton had allegedly gotten into an argument with one of the residents in the home. Milligan and Floyd arrived, went inside the home with their guns drawn and began shooting.

Residents in the home began shooting as well, and the exchange resulted in Milligan, Floyd and a 21-year-old resident in the home getting hit with the gunfire, according to police.

Milligan and the 21-year-old were taken to a local hospital to be treated for injuries that were not considered life-threatening, while Floyd was pronounced dead at the scene by members of the Hampton Division of Fire and Rescue.

Hampton has been charged with malicious wounding, attempted malicious wounding, shooting within an occupied dwelling, discharging a firearm in a public place, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, conspiracy to commit a felony and two counts of use of a firearm in commission of a felony.

Milligan was charged with attempted malicious wounding, burglary while armed, shooting into an occupied Dwelling, shooting in public and four counts of use of a firearm in commission of a felony,
