VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — A man accused of breaking into Virginia Beach homes while residents slept will serve more than four years in prison.

Virginia Beach police arrested Drake Eric Hermann in connection to three different burglaries in the Holland Pines neighborhood in 2018.

Hermann was accused in one incident of laptops, a Toyota Camry and clothing, including a black and gray hoodie, from a home Meadowood Drive last March.

Hermann’s trial was originally slated for March 6, but was pushed back. He was sentenced to 20 years on March 13 after he pleaded guilty.

A spokesperson for the Virginia Beach Commonwealth’s Attorney said all but four years and six months of that time was suspended. 

The suspended time is conditioned on 15 years good behavior, an indeterminate amount of supervised probation and restitution payment.
