SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Firefighters responded to a garage fire at a home early Sunday evening.

According to Suffolk officials, their emergency communications received the call at 6:45 p.m. and the first units arrived on scene in the 1700 block of Cotton Farm Lane within seven minutes.

Fire and Rescue Captain B. Sweat says there was heavy fire showing from the two-story detached garage. There was no fire damage to the primary residence.

Firefighters were able to quickly knock down the fire and bring it under control by 7:27 p.m. The 2200 square feet garage was declared a partial loss.

There were no injuries reported, according to fire officials.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
