Suspect in Portsmouth double homicide turns himself in

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — A man suspected of killing two people in Portsmouth over the weekend has turned himself in, a police spokesperson confirms.

Sheldon Marcus Porter is charged with first-degree murder in connection to a March 16 shooting that led to the deaths of 66-year-old Wilbur Giles and 34-year-old Chiquita Giles.


The spokesperson confirmed Porter surrendered to Police Friday morning.
