ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. (WAVY) — Police are looking for two men and a person of interest after a Kay Jewelers store in Elizabeth City was robbed at gunpoint on Saturday.
Elizabeth City police say the armed robbery happened at the jewelry store on Conlon Way around 8 p.m .
Two men went into the store, held up a gun, and ordered the employees to hand over cash and jewelry, according to police. They handcuffed one of the store’s employees while making the other employee empty the jewelry cases.
Police say the suspects left the store after the robbery with an undisclosed amount of cash and jewelry.
Before committing the robbery, police say the two suspects were seen on the store’s surveillance camera entering the store, posing as customers, and then walking out for a few minutes.
A man that was seen leaving the store (pictured above) during the beginning of the armed robbery has been named a person of interest. The two suspects and the man left the scene in a Mercedes Benz ML 350 SUV and Toyota Sienna van with damage to the rear window on the driver side.
