HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — Tuesday marks two years since a Hampton mother and her young daughter vanished, with only a car left behind.
Keir Johnson and her daughter, Chloe, were last seen on Hastings Drive in Hampton April 30, 2017.
They were headed to Buckroe Beach in Hampton, but never made it.
Newport News Police found Johnson’s car two weeks later.
Police said in a tweet Tuesday, “Today our hearts and thoughts are with the family of Keir & Chloe Johnson, as we recognize the passing of 2 years since their disappearance.”
The tweet said police’s investigation into their disappearance “remains active.” Anyone who can help find them is eligible for a $35,000 reward.
Their family did not want to speak to 10 On Your Side today, but comunity members wanted to show them they have their back.
One person said, “God knows where they are and never give up hope.”
Another said,”I just want her to know that the community, we are wishing and hoping for her to come home.
Community members wanted them to know Keir and Chloe will never be forgotten.
“The community definitely has not forgotten, everybody I’ve talked to is behind the family and they are all looking out hoping that this story will end happily,” another said.
