WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (WAVY) – Woods Drive in Williamsburg felt the wrath of the severe weather that blew through the area early Monday morning.
A large tree fell on top of a garage and then on a home. The detached garage is destroyed.
The homeowner, Bill Althans, told WAVY.com he heard a crash overnight and went outside with flashlights to see what happened. He said he also heard water running in his bathroom. It was only when the sun came out he saw the full extent of the damage.
Fortunately, both Bill and his wife are unharmed. He said he’s already been in touch with the insurance company and is working to get the tree removed.
Public Works crews are also out helping to clean up storm damage.
