CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — The trial date for a Portsmouth firefighter accused of setting dumpsters on fire has been set.

Mark Stuck is facing charges in connection to five fires in Chesapeake between March and July of 2017.

In a preliminary hearing Thursday, Stuck waived his right to hear the evidence against him until the trial, which is set to begin Aug. 7.

Chesapeake fire investigators say two secret cameras caught stuck in the act on July 31. 

Changes were made to Stuck’s bond in Thursday’s hearing. Among them, Stuck is now allowed to go on his family’s vacation at the end of this month.

The hours with which Stuck can work his operate his lawn care business have been extended. Stuck has been on administration leave without pay by the city since he was charged.

A judge granted Stuck bond last August, with the provision that he stay at home.
