SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Police were contacted Wednesday shortly after 1 a.m. when a citizen observed two teens tampering with vehicles.

When they arrived in the 6000 block of Belleharbour Circle, they encountered a pair of teens who fit the description provided leaving the scene driving a black Toyota.

Police signaled the teens to pull over after they failed to use their turning signal near Bridge Road and US 664 South. The Toyota accelerated, but police did not pursue the vehicle

They were located again soon after on the interstate ramp. The driver attempted to flee, but was apprehended by police. A second involved subject was located shortly thereafter.

The involved subjects were juveniles, age 14, from Norfolk, and age 15, from Portsmouth. They were released to the custody of a family member.

They have been accused of the following: eluding police, reckless driving, operating a motor vehicle without a license and a curfew violation.
