VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – The malicious wounding case against a former NFL player was once again continued and won’t happen until sometime next year.

Curtis Jordan is accused of repeatedly assaulting his ex-girlfriend in Virginia Beach back in January 2015.

Jordan played for the Washington Redskins in the 80s and for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers back in the 70s.

His trial was scheduled to begin on Oct. 30 but both sides say new information has been discovered and requested another continuance.

Prosecutors expect 30 witnesses to testify.
