WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — The Republican National Committee (RNC) headquarters was under lockdown on Wednesday morning as hazmat crews investigated a suspicious package.
The United States Capitol Police (USCP) responded to the 300 block of First Street SE at about 7:45 a.m. after receiving reports of a “suspicious package.”
The Associated Press reported the package was addressed to former President Donald Trump and contained two vials of blood.
The Hazardous Incident Response Division cleared the package by 10 a.m.
The source of the package and its contents, however, will be further investigated.
